Welcome! I’d love to introduce you to my little family and my passion behind The Grainery and the products I sell.
This is my beautiful family! Russell, Nadine, Callen and I are blessed to live on 7 acres of gorgeous property, that houses our extra four legged family too. 2 horses, a plethora of goats, a hand full of beloved barn kitties, and our 2 Golden Retrievers, Cinder and Mack, keeps us animal lovers busy year round.
That small plethora of goats, all of whom have names and very individual personalities, have become an important part of The Grainery, my Bath Collection in particular. All of the handmade goat milk soaps, and lotion offered at The Grainery are made with our own raw goats milk from our very own herd. We breed a small handful of our does every Fall and are blessed with little bouncy kids in the Spring. Many we sell and place in wonderful homes, some inevitably stay at our farm and join our breeding program when old enough. We currently have 5th generation does kidding this coming spring, how exciting!
Nestled on top of our barn hill at our residence, was a run down grainery. From my research, I estimate it to have been built in the 1930’s, although I wasn’t able to find any specific dates or years. It acquired many years of collecting miscellaneous junk, and the elements had taken quite the toll on the exterior. When we decided to demolish our barn two years ago, due to structural issues, we first removed the barn boards on the outside to reuse when renovating The Grainery. We wanted to restore The Grainery to be a useful storefront, but also try to keep it as authentic as possible. Many hours of demolishing, remodeling, nail pulling, a new steel roof, and “new” old windows, The Grainery once again has new life.
After years of packing up vehicles and trailers and traveling from craft sale to craft sale, I am so excited to have a “home” for my business. What started as simply making pallet art and other small items for gifts for family and friends, has turned into my passion for making handmade, unique and one of a kind products to share with you all. I plan to share my love of handmade with all of you too, with different classes and workshops covering many different topics to help you advance your hobbies, or perhaps find love for a new one!
